Petska Wins ILS Race at Wilmot

Nick Petska of Spring Grove, IL scored his first IRA Lightning Sprint feature win after coming out of retirement for four seasons while competing in Wingless sprints. "I dedicate the win to my Uncle Ray who passed away earlier this year," sand an emotional Petska who is a past Lightning Sprint Champion as well. Petska took the lead on lap six when race leader C.J. Malueg broke something in his drive train coasting him to the infield. Petska held off second place Ion Stear of Hebron, IL by less than a car length at the checkered. Pleasant Prairie's Mike Neau finished third.

Wilmot Raceway's 1/3-mile clay oval hosts five divisions next Saturday, August 1. Wingless sprints, modifieds, street stocks, Bandit 4-cylinder stock cars and IRA Lightning Sprints will all be in action. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with hot laps at 6:00 and racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $15.00 for ages 12 & over; $5.00 for ages 7-11; with ages 6 & under admitted free.
